A number of you have been inquiring about our transition to Nashville, so here’s a quick update:
Our house hasn’t sold yet. We’ve had 27 showings without an offer. Needless to say, this has been quite baffling to us and to our realtor (and to other realtors as well). It’s also been pretty exhausting constantly keeping our home ridiculously clean with four kids! We’re trusting that God is up to something and we’ll understand more when the timing is right. But we’d love to sell our house before winter sets in.
Despite our home not selling, we felt it was both helpful to Central and to us to set an end date. So a couple of weeks ago, we set an end date for the end of this month. I’ll be concluding our “Naked & Unashamed” series this Sunday, and then my last Sunday teaching at Central will be October 23rd. Personally, I’m grateful that our house didn’t sell right away and that we didn’t have to rush out of Central and West Michigan. It’s been a gift having a three-month transition period at the church. But now that that’s coming to an end, it would be great to sell our house, as we can’t move until we do so.
As far as why we believe God is sending us to Nashville, we still don’t have a clue. But through it all, we have peace about the situation, and believe wholeheartedly that we’re doing the right thing. We believe God has been saying, “You’ll know what you need to know when you get to Nashville.” So we’re waiting on God to sell the house!
So there’s the update. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us. We greatly appreciate it!
P.S. For those of you who are in West Michigan, I have my last local book singing event on Thursday. See HERE for the details.
