As many of you are aware, Doug Greenwold of Preserving Bible Times and I teamed up last year to create the Institute of Biblical Context, which is a 3-day national conference that exposes participants to the facets of biblical context and how to read and engage the biblical story more fully. Last June was the inaugural conference and was entitled, “Jesus In His Context.” For three days, we focused on the life of Jesus and the gospel stories to better understand Jesus’ world so that we could better understand his word. It was a remarkable conference that had overwhelmingly positive reception. Many of you were there. Many of you indicated you wished you had been there.

Well, great news! We’re doing another conference. It’s called “Shepherds, Flocks & Kings: Contextual Wisdom from to Genesis to Jesus” and registration just opened. For three days, we’re going to dig into the shepherding motif and context that runs throughout the biblical story in order to gain wisdom and application for how to live well today.

We’re hosting it at the same location as last year – Community Reformed in Zeeland, Michigan. And the dates are June 11-13.

As with last year’s conference, we have a phenomenal faculty on hand. And for those of you who were there last year, you’re going to see several new faces as our intention all along has been to cycle faculty in and out, keeping things fresh, and also allowing the strength of the gathered faculty to dictate the direction of the conference material.

I highly encourage you to take a look at the conference website HERE, check out the faculty and specifics of what will be covered, and see if this is something you’d like to attend. Personally, if there was only one conference I could attend in 2018, this is the one I’d be attending (even if I wasn’t teaching at it). It’s going to be spectacular.

Everything you need to know, including registration and prices (there is a student rate as well), you can find at instituteofbiblicalcontext.com. Don’t miss out on the early bird rate!
