I have always remarked that if there were only one series I could do at my church it would be on the Kingdom of Heaven (God). Jesus’ message on the Kingdom of Heaven is one of the most misunderstood subjects in all of Christianity. For the last two thousand years, we’ve preached Jesus, but we’ve struggled to preach his message.
Well, I’m thrilled to share with you that we’re kicking off a seven-week series this Sunday (Oct 4) at Central entitled, “Kingdom and Empires,” to address this pivotal message of Jesus – a message He states was the reason He came (see Luke 4:43).
Our Lead Pastor, Craig Rees, will be kicking off the series with a very helpful teaching. Then I’ll be up on October 11, and I will be doing a teaching on the entire Bible from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Yep, that’s right. I’ll be addressing every major character, every major movement, and nearly every major event, and will seek to do so in 55-minutes (and it might be depicted visually on a 45 ft long timeline – hint, hint, hint)
The goal is to get an understanding of the grand narrative and to learn where Jesus comes in the midst of the story in order to lay a foundation for the rest of this series for understanding why everything for Jesus is about the Kingdom of Heaven. If you’ve ever wondered what the Bible is all about, it is my prayer that this teaching will significantly help you understand that. And hopefully this will be one of those teachings you’ll want to share with family and friends, whether they’re followers of Jesus or not.
I’d like to invite you to track along with this series. Our services are 9 and 10:45am on Sundays. If you’re in the area and you’re not connected into a local church, please join us. If you’re not in the area, but would like to join us, we’re officially launching our Internet campus this Sunday, so you’ll be able to watch the services live HERE. As always, the teachings are filmed and will be available for viewing (or audio download) both on our new Central website (also launching this Sunday) and on my website, generally by Tuesday of that week.
If you have family or friends who would benefit by joining us for this series, please forward this post along to them.
May God’s kingdom come, and may His will be done, here on earth as it is in heaven!
