Facing What Is
Habakkuk comes face-to-face with his disappointments. Until we are able to name the disappointments in our lives, we will not be able to adequately face them. And yet once we do name them, it doesn’t mean we will face them well. So the key question becomes, “How do we turn our face towards our disappointments in a such a way that our countenance gets lifted, and we experience a resurgence of life in our own soul, rather than becoming jaded, bitter, cynical, hard, apathetic, or perpetually angry?”
