Episode 005 – God’s Instructions For Freedom

Being intentional with God’s Word is essential to living a deep and meaningful life. In the biblical period, God’s people were called to not only dig into the Scriptures but also to have an ongoing discussion with their friends and family about them. Formany of us, our time with God’s Word often stops with reading it and we miss out on the critical responsibility of discussion. In this episode, we explore why it’s so crucial to be intentional about our relationship with the Bible so that it permeates every facet of our lives.

The missing weapon in the common presentation of the “gospel” in all denominations.
Just 10 is only cracking the door open.
The, “I Am come that they might have life more abundantly” weapon.
    Thanks so much Brad.

Once again, thanks for sharing this teaching. I’m reminded of Jesus’ teaching to the Jews in John 8 where in verse 32 ends with “…….and the truth will set you free”.

When I hear your teachings it brings me back to your trips and the joy of coming closer to Jesus through His words that you are making clearer. Great teaching about the prayer shawl and what it means. I have mine hanging over my “Quiet Time” chair like a Huppah! Was looking at it as you taught about it.

Roman’s 10:4 says Jesus is the culmination or in some translations says end of the law. So where does that fit into this?

Haha. I chose not to answer this as I knew the Israel trip would solve this question for you. Great having you and Heidi on the trip.

I’ve often thought that one of the primary roles of a parent is to serve as the “guardrails of life.” Meaning, I set boundaries for the behavior of my kids — not so tight as to keep them from experiencing joy and flexing their freedom muscles, but to set outer boundaries, beyond which they would plummet to great harm. The “guardrails” are not established out of a sense of punishment or kill-joying; rather, they are expressions of my love and desire to a) protect them from harm, and b) to encourage them to have fun and experiment within those boundaries. God loves us in much the same manner.

The talk about God walking between both of the pieces blew my mind. Truly Jesus was there at the beginning with his father and the Holy Spirit creating this world. God has a plan for his creation and he showed it to us so often and in so many ways in his word.

It’s a stunning story, and a stunning proclamation about the kind of God we get to love and serve.
