In this story, Hannah has been through a lot. In fact, once you briefly unpack all of the cultural and social realities, you soon realize she’s in one of the worst possible situations you could be in. As a result, she’s experiencing anger, pain, frustration, and anxiety. When one’s soul is disturbed like this, a common human response is to take something in (food, sleep, alcohol, TV, shopping, busyness, etc.) in order to neutralize the unsettledness one feels. In fact, Hannah gets accused of doing just that – of taking something in. But what we learn is that she’s not taking something in; she’s pouring something out. If we can learn to do the same, we will be able to handle these kinds of emotions when they come our way. Find out how she did it!
