As Paul so powerfully proclaims, “For he [God] has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” This is the message of Jesus Christ. Through his death on the cross, he redeemed us from the kingdom of darkness. In him, people are forgiven and rescued. And yet, the kingdom of darkness doesn’t want this truth to go forth. The messages of darkness strive to counter this life-giving message. As we understand those messages, we can call them out for the lies they are.
