I agree that we are part of the war. Some might hear this lesson and hear a war cry. But I believe that the war is won on our knees and with love, mercy, grace, thanksgiving and joy in the Lord. And all these are learned in the word and through prayer.
Most of the lessons that we learn are learned through suffering and conflict. Our battle is not with flesh and blood, and you can finish that verse if you want. That is why we are told about the armor that we are to put on every day. Someone who puts on armor is going to war. Second Peter says make our call an election sure and that is being a part of this battle. At Paul’s conversion, Jesus says I will show him what he must suffer. Paul learned about Grace peace comfort all the things that are available to us. We know the conflict and suffering that he went through. As we go through these things and see how God delivers us our faith increases. As our faith increases, we realize how much we can depend on God and then know that he is with us, and that gives us more and more comfort and peace and joy. however, these things must be our hearts desire.
