Episode 133 – The Journey Pt 6: Discerning God’s Will

One of the most challenging things on the journey is trying to discern God’s will. How do you know if what you’re sensing is from God? For anyone seeking to follow God faithfully, this is the age-old question. This episode offers a 7-part framework for how to discern God’s will. It’s not a formula. It’s not 7 easy steps to discerning God’s will. Instead, it’s a framework to invite your heart and mind into deeper participation with God’s activity in your life. Because if your heart and mind are in the right place, actively seeking God’s face, God won’t play games with you. Instead, God will meet you and give you the courage to trust Him for what’s ahead.

Thank you for this episode. I have experienced God’s leading in many ways, but the strangest way He got me to look in the right direction was when my handbag was stolen in a supermarket parking lot and was subsequently found and returned to me by people living in the area the Lord wanted me to move to!

Brad – good teaching. There’s a lot of wisdom in what you shared. It doesn’t go unnoticed that even before you and Shallon faced the “Nashville decision,” you both had built friendships and mentor-relationships with others who knew you well and who could speak into your life in significant ways. It is in the “right now” that we are laying the foundation to hear God’s voice and make wise decisions months-years-and even decades from now.

Couldn’t agree more, Henry. Thank you for sharing these thoughts. I really appreciate you!

Amen Brad. God works in powerful ways that sometimes we don’t understand, and leads us to make decisions that may seem crazy to the world but that are the opportunities that He uses to transform us and bring us closer and closer to Him.

Indeed, Andrea. Thanks for sharing that.
