Episode 107 – Demolishing the High Places

Key Passage(s): 1 Kings 15:11-14

Too often, we live with divided hearts. On the one hand, our hearts are devoted to God. We want God’s best for our lives. We want God’s kingdom to come. On the other hand, we continue to allow places in our lives where evil and sin persist. This episode explores the life of King Asa and our deeply human tendency to be devoted to God without tearing down the high places in our lives. By the end of this episode, you’ll know how to identify the high places in your life and begin the process of demolishing them for good.

  1. Great word Brad. I have seen high places in those 3 areas be erected and allowed to stay in my life and in people i have discipled. A little compromise, a little indulgence always leads to death.
I know people appreciate your teachings as I do, but mostly i am thankful for your heart. It is a heart committed to follow God and make his name great and to be transparent before him and others.

  2. Brad, I heard that you did a sermon about your addiction to porn. I was wondering if you could make that available for me to view? Thank you for your ministry.

  3. Thanks again, Brad for the great teaching today. ! ! ! And because of the preceding comment on my screen, I just went out and watched your “My Story”. I have even greater love and appreciation for you than before. As you know and said, we all are in our own journey. Over recent times, I have often said to Him, “Oh Father, I am broken, we all are broken in own way. We know Your purpose is to repair and remake us “TO THE PRAISE OF YOUR GLORY”. Amen.

  4. My therapist listen for an hour as I belittled myself, pointed out my failures and cried my eyes swollen. At the end she reminded me God wants us to have Joy, peace, love and faith. And that the path isn’t always going to be paved in gold. To be fully committed and trusting of his plan. Once she left I decided to watch this episode and without fail he places me where I need to be on that given day. I have high places of pride and the need for everything to just be perfect right away. I am broken still, I need Him daily and Him to restore and repair me. And it’s ok to not be ok. Today I’m not ok, Satan had been attacking hard lately. But I know God is for me, loves me unconditionally and always within me. Time to demolish my high places. Thank you Brad, sure miss you at Central still.
