Doors With Legs

(September 1, 2016)

Key Passage: Luke 5:27-32

Note: The first 25 minutes encompasses me sharing our story of God calling my family and I to Nashville and my resignation from Central, along with Craig’s (Lead Pastor) thoughts on our transition and upcoming departure.

Jesus pursued those who were considered “socially unclean” and kept at arm’s length because of their social status or personal circumstances – one such example is Jesus’ calling of Levi (of who’s story I explore in this teaching). These folks, including Levi, wouldn’t be caught dead in a religious place, and yet Jesus pursued them out of love. And the church, comprised of His followers, is called to do the same. The calling of a church isn’t just to be a place that is welcoming to all, but the church is to be a place that pursues all. The doors of a church must have legs.
