The Lord's Prayer Film

Endorsements for The Lord’s Prayer

“The Lord’s Prayer is the first of its kind. Never has this prayer been explained in its original context through such a beautiful, premium documentary format. I believe in and support this project. The cinematography is spectacular. The content is exceptional.”

Mark Burnett Executive Producer of Shark Tank, The Voice, and Survivor

“The Lord’s Prayer film is beautifully crafted–clear, compelling, and spiritually rich. It takes one of the most familiar passages in Scripture and opens it up with fresh depth and reverence. It draws people from simply reciting the prayer to truly understanding and living it. It draws viewers from familiarity into awe, from recitation to relationship."

Mart Green Hobby Lobby Ministry Investment Officer

“The Lord’s Prayer is a compelling film that challenges our tendency to read Scripture through the lens of our own experience. Although this prayer is well known and often quoted, its depth and richness are easily overlooked. By drawing together the biblical story behind Jesus’ words, the film reveals a fuller tapestry of meaning that expands our understanding and reshapes our hearts. It helps us move from merely reciting the prayer to truly living it– becoming faithful conduits of God’s mission and genuine representatives of His Kingdom. We wholeheartedly recommend it."

Dr. John and Kelly Chesnut President & CEO, Wycliffe Bible Translators

“The Lord’s Prayer offers theologically rich and biblically rigorous content, enlightening and inspiring viewers. Prominent Bible scholars offer academically accurate explanations of the prayer’s connections with the Old Testament and first century A.D. cultural realities. These compelling insights illuminate the Lord’s Prayer in spiritually rich ways, confirming Jesus’s prayer as the most powerful words about God’s love for his creation and all people.”

Bringing Heaven Here

The Lord’s Prayer, recited by heart in churches, crises, or half-asleep moments, has grown so familiar to many that its words have lost their transformative power in a louder, faster, and more divided world.

Bringing Heaven Here reintroduces this prayer in its original historical, cultural, and everyday context as Jesus intended, shifting it from a rote routine to a vital blueprint for discipleship—the very prayer that sustained Jesus himself and is designed to sustain us today.

What People Are Saying

"Bringing Heaven Here opens our eyes to the Lord's Prayer in its original context and shows how these ancient words can breathe new life into our weary souls. This book doesn't just explain the prayer, it invites us to live it, and in doing so, encounter Jesus in a way that changes everything."

Dr. Darren Whitehead Senior Pastor, Church of the City (Franklin, TN)

"Bringing Heaven Here reminds us that the Lord's Prayer is not merely an individual expression of faith but a communal declaration of trust. It draws individuals into a community that is in awe of God's power, amazed by his nearness, surrendered to his will, and dependent on his daily provision. This book offers readers both theological depth and practical encouragement to let this ancient prayer shape their lives today."

Cyndi Parker Ph.D, Professor, Author, and Host of the Context Matters podcast

"We've prayed the Lord's Prayer our whole lives--at church, with our high school sports teams, and now with our kids at bedtime--but praying it so often made it familiar. Bringing Heaven Here opened our eyes. Brad and Brad bring each phrase alive, showing how it connects to our deepest purpose and to the ordinary moments of everyday life. It's already reshaping how we parent, pray, and live. We can't wait to share it with our kids!"

Dr. Josh and Christi Straub Founders, Famous at Home

"This book will help you pray the Lord's prayer with more compassion, more conviction, and more context. It will open your eyes to its original meaning and open your heart to its ultimate purpose."

Mark Batterson New York Times bestselling author of The Circle Maker

"This brilliant, wise, and kind book is like a travel guide to a faraway land that you have known of, and seen on television, but never visited. The depth of perspective, history, and meaning offered brings a fullness that invites you to savor the words like bread from heaven. Your prayer will never be the same."

Dan B. Allender, Ph.D Professor of Counseling Psychology and Founding President, The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology

“It Makes Me Feel Less Alone, Knowing Him Better”

We are a weekly group of men who have used Walking The Text for the last couple of years. Understanding the context of what Jesus said, why He said it, who He said it to, and the location of His teaching has had a huge impact on the walk of many of our men. Many have commented on how it’s changed the way they read the Bible, walk it out, and have fellowship with other guys. There’s a lot of self-reflection in the study questions, and we break into small groups for discussion, discipleship, and learning together.

One guy said, “It’s been totally mind-blowing to dissect and break down familiar biblical stories that we have heard time and time again.”

Another said, “Connecting the dots shows how intentional Jesus was about His message. Even the guys who walked with Him didn’t understand all the time. It makes me feel less alone, knowing Him better. God bless this ministry and everyone it takes to make it happen.”

“I Got My Sister Back in the Desert.”

Families are beautifully complex. Mine is no exception.I was raised in a loving, faith-filled Christian home alongside my older brother, Chris. We both embraced the values our parents instilled: marriage, children, serving the Lord, and active involvement in our church. When Chris married Caroline, I gained the sister I’d always longed for. Together, we raised our children side by side, woven tightly into each other’s lives.

Then life took a turn. After 12 years of marriage, I went through a painful divorce that shattered not only my world but deeply impacted my family. My parents, with quiet grace, accepted my new reality. Chris and Caroline, however, struggled to reconcile my choices with the life we had all built. Holidays became strained, and even sharing the same church pews felt like walking through invisible walls. I carried the weight of guilt and shame, convinced I was living out the consequences of my sin. I built a fortress of isolation around myself.

Years passed. I remarried a wonderful man named Billy, and we found a new church home. Life moved forward, but the fracture remained.

Then came an unexpected invitation. Chris and Caroline asked Billy and me to join them on a study trip to Israel. We said yes, not knowing that this journey would become sacred ground for healing.

Early in the trip, we found ourselves walking through the Negev Desert. Our guide, Brad, asked us to pair up, and Caroline quickly stood beside me before I could even choose a partner. Brad asked us to look into each other’s eyes, close enough to see ourselves reflected. We hadn’t been that close in nearly two decades. It was uncomfortable, raw, and holy. Brad reminded us, “When you were struggling in the desert, God was THIS close to you.”

I was struggling. In that moment, I felt the Holy Spirit gently pressing me forward. As we walked in silence, I found the courage to speak. I apologized for the pain, the distance, and the brokenness. I shared how I had felt judged and cast out.Caroline stopped. She removed her sunglasses, looked me in the eyes, and said, “I’m sorry.” Her words shattered the walls I didn’t even know were still standing. We embraced, we wept, and we embraced again.

In the middle of the desert, I got my sister back.

God had been writing a story of restoration all along. He brought us to the wilderness not to punish but to heal. His grace met us in the dust and turned it into holy ground.I now know: no distance is too great, no wound too deep, and no silence too long for God to redeem. His path is always the greatest blessing.

God Opened My Heart To Adoption

Dan and I have been married for eight years, and we have always longed to be parents. We started trying for a baby in 2019 and discovered we had health issues that caused infertility. We struggled through infertility for five long, exhausting years.I had come to terms with not ever having children and asked Dan how he felt about it. Dan mentioned adoption, and I reminded him that it’s a calling—and honestly, I didn’t feel called to it. I told him, “God can do anything. If this is something you truly want, pray that He opens my heart to adoption.” So Dan prayed.

A few months later, Brad Nelson came to speak at Southeast Christian Church. He shared about the church in Corinth and how, when people would abandon their infants, the Christians would take them in and make them their own. As he spoke, something in me shifted. In that moment, God opened my heart to adoption.

It’s hard to describe, but from that day forward, everything felt different—like a light switch had turned on. What once felt impossible became a beautiful calling. The adoption journey has been such an incredible blessing in our lives, and we are forever grateful to the whole Walking The Text team for allowing God to use them in such powerful ways.
