Episode 138 – Armor of God Pt 3: Breastplate of Righteousness

The third piece listed in the full armor of God is the breastplate, which was the piece of armor that protected a soldier’s vital organs. And when Paul pairs the word breastplate with the word righteousness, he’s drawing on the Hebrew understanding that righteousness is relational. In other words, relationships are at the very core of who we are, and the enemy’s number one purpose is to wreck relationships. By the end of this episode, you’ll appreciate just how important it is to be vigilant about pursuing and preserving right relationships so the enemy doesn’t take out your heart!

So from Isaiah to Ephesians we see TORAH! Yet churches do not even mention the word

Satan’s #1 purpose is to separate us from God. That’s why we need to be armed with God word and a strong connection with him. Worship, prayer and the Word are our armor.

Absolutely, Clayton! And I would add “community” to that list. The shield of faith teaching will fill that in 🙂

That’s very clarifying, preserve our relationship with God, since our strength and else flows from Him, it’s natural that the enemy would want to cut our supply line to easily starve us into defeat. Not only that if he gets us around bad relationships it’s like a time bomb, the easier will be to take us down. Thanks for the teaching brother, very helpful. And May we be watchful and may God set us free.
