In one of the more emotionally charged moments in Jesus’ ministry, Jesus is questioned by religious leaders on what should be done with a woman who was caught in the act of adultery (of whom they’ve brought before Jesus). In a response of sheer brilliance, Jesus, writing in the dirt, allows the religious leaders to come their senses of their own deceit and brokenness. And then   addressing the woman herself, Jesus responds with a delicate balance of grace and truth, demonstrating this is the approach in addressing any difficult circumstance. In understanding how Jesus responded, we learn how we can pour living water onto the dust of someone’s life.
