In John 17, Jesus makes an astounding statement. He says to God the Father, “I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.” Jesus had work to do on earth. And as the apostle Paul reminds us, we also have work to do. The question becomes, “Will we be able to stand before God and say the same thing Jesus said?” As an artist once shared with me, the most significant part of any project is the last 10%. We must strive to finish well the work God has given each of us to do, whether we’re towards the end of our lives, or if we’re fourteen years old. We all have work to do, and the last 10% applies to us all.
