The Answer To The Outrage

In a bizarre response to news that his close friend, Lazarus, is deathly ill, Jesus stays where is until Lazarus dies. And then Jesus proceeds to weep when he arrives on the scene and encounters Lazarus’ sisters, right before he raises Lazarus back to life. Why all the drama? Why does Jesus wait until Lazarus dies? Why does he cry when he knows he’s going to raise Lazarus from the dead? Only when we understand Jesus’ obedience to the Father, and the incredible outrage he has towards the brokenness of the world, will we understand Jesus’ actions, and comprehend how emphatic Jesus is in becoming the answer to his own outrage.
