Episode 014 – Blessing God 100 Times A Day

There’s an ancient Jewish practice that revolutionized my prayer life and fostered an awareness of both God and gratitude that I hadn’t accessed on a regular basis before. In this short teaching, I share what that practice is and how it can have a significant impact on your life as well.

Discussion Questions

  • What’s your biggest takeaway from the teaching?
  • If you struggle with consistent prayer life, why do you think that is?
  • How can you be more intentional at seeing God’s involvement in your life and blessing Him for it?
  • How would your life be different if your days were filled with more gratitude?
  • Knowing there was a “short prayer” for everything, are there are few short prayers you could create and then use on a daily basis?
  • What’s one step you can take in living out this truth this week?

I have integrated this into my daily life (albeit off and on at times), but it not only reminds you of God, it brightens your mood and helps you truly see all things differently. Thank you, God, for Brad and his passion for teaching, his ability to speak, and the ease of communication today. Have a great day!

I am grateful for the goodness of God; of which these weekly teachings are true blessings so Thank you, Brad. I find that no matter what my state of mind may be (frustrated, joyful, confused, peaceful, etc.) when I choose to talk with the Lord about everything, I’m choosing to look to the Heavens where my help comes from; whether I realize it at the time or not. In so doing, I increase my authentic dialogue with the Lord and my inner spirit remains connected with the Spirit of the Living God throughout the entire day. My prayers may be as simple as “Oh God, Oh God” and He is there, involved, and is already responding…even if it is a picture/sense of His pleasure over me. The lesson of “Blessing the Lord 100 times a day” is another way to express my gratitude to the Lord for His great love. Continuing to learn and grow. Thank you, Brad for your faithfulness and transparency before the Lord and His People.

Your teaching on “Grounded in gratitude” has been a challenge. We’ve had a year of one crisis after another and it’s so easy to be aware of some of those difficult times and a challenge to give thanks anyway even if we don’t feel like it. The discipline of blessing God “100 times a day” strikes a chord. Thanks for the thoughts. I do bless God for you and your teaching episodes.

I know it’s been a rough year for you and John, Jerry. Glad this teaching struck a cord.

Love this and it only stirs my heart to keep ramping it up with much praise and thanks to our Lord for all He does and provides. I have a little quote that says “Turn THANKSGIVING into thanks living”.

Fun to also see the Fed X man be a part of the teaching ????. Thanks Brad!

Great teaching. An attitude of gratitude leads us to contentment. Agree?

This is so important for those who are going through challenging times (as we all do sometime to varying extents) and are struggling with faith, discouragement and depletion whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. I think research has shown we are able to re-program our brains to a better place – and even better chemistry – with the practice of gratitude.

    Thanks, Brad!

Thank you!! Another teaching that’s spot-on! I’m painfully aware of how much I have now that I’ve never had in the past. I thank him for them every single day! I have a tiny apartment that is my quiet refuge as I begin and end my days. I thank him for my vessel – that it’s healthy and strong at 55, that I’m able to workout 5 days a week, that my job gives me financial security- which allows me to give away more to the less fortunate. The more I give away, seems the more he blesses me- you can’t out give God!! My thankfulness is infinite! He feels so present all day long and I’m in awe. I love this teaching! And I love my thankful prayers/conversations we have all throughout the day!

    Hi Brad
Thanks for this teaching. I listened to it when it was first released and stored it away in my heart.
Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and during the very dark days of chemotherapy and other complications, the memory of this teaching was such a tremendous help. It was so easy to just wallow in deep sorrow and fear, but looking for even the tiniest little positive thing I could give thanks for really lifted my spirits and drew me closer to God.
Even now, I still rejoice take I can get out of bed, make it down the stairs, make myself a cup of tea and even carry it back upstairs. Last year that was impossible – I was completely reliant on my husband to do almost everything for me.

God proved Himself faithful throughout last year; He was always there, carrying me through the very dark valleys.
