Episode 013 – Grounded In Gratitude
Key Passage(s): 2 Kings 5:1-15; Luke 17:11-19
It’s really easy to focus on what’s notgoing well in our lives, rather than being grateful for what isgoing well. But what would happen if we allowed gratitude to be what grounded us? How would we then view the challenging things in our lives? That’s what this teaching addresses by looking at the astounding connections between the healing of Naaman (2 Kings 5) and Jesus’ healing of the ten lepers (Luke 17).

Brad, I have NEVER liked history,But your teachings are so interesting and informative that i enjoy not only this one but each teaching. God has blessed you with this gift of making his words come alive and interesting. Thank you so much for making the word of God more real and understandable . Blessings to you and yours.
I’m deeply grateful for your kind words, Ellie. And thrilled you’re enjoying what I call “helpful history.”
Imagine this truth and remember we are as associated with YEHOVAH as Israel was when she walked in righteousness and even when not doing so this was still a truth that made her enemies her friend!
Needs to be taught as seriously as a doctrine and as common as eating:
Psalm 22:3
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
Thanks Brad for your teaching posts. Real gratitude to God is a huge part of what makes a person whole. God bless and keep you.
I am very grateful for this Teaching Series. Thank you.
You are most welcome, Colleen.
Brad, Thank for the message on Gratitude. Isn’t amazing how the pain and struggles in our lives get the attention? There are times when I list the things I am grateful for in my life and the list is HUGE. I have even made the comment, “I should NEVER have the right to complain about ANYTHING.” Great job on your message and please keep walking out the text…
I’m with you, Forrest. Great comments.
Brad, today I am thankful for you.
And for you as well, Aaron 🙂
Love this . Thank you Brad. Each time I view these videos I’m reminded that Jesus is very intentional..he doesn’t do random. Great connection again between Jesus and Elisha.. once again he fulfills the Law and the Prophets.. much appreciated.
You’re welcome, Ed.
Hello, I have a gratitude for your gift of teaching. You are truly gifted with the spirit. I find it remarkable how you dive into the scriptures and literally “walk” us through the “text.” I’m glad that you visited my church, which is Discovery Church. It was there when you delivered the message from the book of Matthew (I was hooked). Thank you for explaining the scriptures so clearly. Stay Blessed.
Blessing God for your kind comments, Tru. Thank you.
I am still early on in the teachings. But each day I’m driven to watch and take notes in 2-4 episodes. I am grateful for your teachings and the way I am able to learn when I always struggled. I’m grateful to be able to teach others when I am done each day. I know God has a purpose for me with these teachings and I’m excited to see why. Thank you Brad!
So great to hear, Crystal! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your teaching they are so info-packed and open my eyes to see things clearer. I go to Discovery Church and together with Don and others may faith and understanding of scripture grows.
God bless, Brad Briskey ????
Thank you for these teachings! Our pastor, Brad Nelson, directed us to Walkingthetext.com a few weeks ago. I was immediately “hooked”! I changed my morning devotional times to watching your teaching videos every morning. Although I was brought up in church, I’ve always felt like I was getting lost in the translations in the Bible. You have opened my eyes with “aha” moments in every teaching! I have shared your website with many, and will continue to do so. This one on being grounded in gratitude rings so true to me! I went through a really tough season a few years ago, and when I directed my focus on being grateful every day my life changed! God saw me through it all and brought me out of it into a life that’s better than I’ve ever had! I continue to give him the glory even to strangers. I’m a walking example of his loving grace and mercy and how he can turn any situation into a positive! I am intentionally grateful every single day because of how he has shown me his faithfulness. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for your obedience to him. You are a blessing to so many! Diane Anderson
Brad, thank you so much for these teachings! They have truly made the word come alive! Thank you for being obedient to God in bringing these teachings to us, you are truly walking in the gifts that God has bestowed upon you and I am grateful for them and you.
Hi Dawn,
