Life in the Unknown

The anchoring passage for our Stronger Challenge has been the Israelites crossing the Jordan River in Joshua 3. Interestingly, there’s an anchoring passage for Joshua 3, because story shapes story in the Bible. And that story is of the Exodus. This teaching explores the Israelites leaving Egypt and entering into the desert where they went from the known to the unknown. They didn’t know the desert and they had to learn how to trust God in this unknown. We often struggle in the unknown precisely because it’s unknown. But our greatest stories happen in the unknown. What we learn in this teaching is that God invites us into the unknown to grow us, mature us, and expand our threshold of trusting Him so that we may experience the greatest stories possible.
