Jesus called himself, “The Bread of Life” at a time when people were in great need. It was Jesus’ way of indicating he was their life-giving source of sustenance. The invitation was for them (and us) to allow him, the “Bread of Life,” to nourish and sustain us, but to do so on his terms and not our own. Jesus never promises to fix our circumstances (although, sometimes he does), but he desires to give us a quality of life within our circumstances.
